The McClellan Summation Index ($NYSI) sell signal issued on March 5 has played out beautifully.

The attached chart compares the situation on March 5 (“THEN”) with the current picture as of March 25 (“NOW”). The index has continued sharply lower, driving momentum into oversold territory while the S&P 500 followed suit.

Downside momentum is now clearly slowing, but we still need to see the $NYSI curl upward to confirm a potential swing trend change. That confirmation may take at least a few more days.
