Pundits did not expect a change in the FED’s interest rate policy – The Fed concurred.
Today, we will check on possible TLT’s intermediate-term reversal.
Long Bonds - TLT?
Long bonds yields probably peaked for a while.
About two weeks ago, I alerted Pro subscribers about a potential reversal in TLT. I don't know if I also posted it in Free.
Bond “gods” listened. TLT reversed and generated a preliminary 80D cycle target of 90- shown below.
Even a sideway move into early-mid next week will likely confirm this target.
If TLT gets there, say on 4-6 Feb, it may generate a 20W target of about 98. TBD.
Sentiment & Technical Analysis
The Fear & Greed Index flipped to Neutral, just barely. It does not offer much information now.
We showed yesterday that the 5-day average of Put/Call Ration is low, characteristic of market tops of significance.
The chart below shows a longer-term perspective on the short interest of SPY (S&P 500 ETF).
Looks like bears are extinct, which is bearish from a contrarian point of view.
