Apple (AAPL) – Anatomy of a Trade

• This post is primarily intended as a teaching moment.

• The drop from Dec’24 high to the April low was clearly corrective, which allowed for both a corrective bounce in wave B and a five-wave move to new highs.

• Cycles were pointing up from the second half of April. See the AAPL cycle analysis in the Pro newsletter.

• The initial bounce looked corrective and was followed by a triangle. 

• This could have been A-B or W-X of an A-B-C or W-X-Y upward correction.

• After the triangle, I initiated a position in AAPL to play wave C or Y.

• After the initial i-ii after the triangle, I added 240 calls as I had a green 100% Fibonacci target of 245.

• After wave iii, a 40W cycle target was generated, which gave me confidence to hold position longer for higher prices toward the target.

• This example shows how different methods could work individually for executing trades and together for even higher precision and confidence.

• The cycle signals were relatively straightforward.

• The most complicated part was the EW counting, which takes time to learn.

• However, as I mentioned in some lessons, one does not need to be an expert EWT counter. For successful trades, one only needs to recognize some basic structures, e.g., corrective or impulsive, and profitable setups, e.g., 1-2, A-B, Triangle.
