Some pop-up in VIX can be expected in the next 1-2 weeks into a 20-week cycle peak, but then it should be down again for the volatility, because after the 20-week peak we should expect a 20-week trough.
Shorting VIX/VXX peaks is generally a good strategy in bull markets. This is not a recommendation, just an observation.
