Summary

• Cycles and Elliott waves kept us in synch with the market since late October, even though many technical and sentiment indicators kept sending yellow flags since the 2^nd half of December.

• SPX, NDX and DJIA achieved all up targets, plus cycles and EW counts could not give excuses for expecting more up, except very nano/micro.

• Cycles and EW counts suggest it is time to roll over.

• As I said on Wednesday, the game should be to sell the rips (STR), or, as some people would say: “take your money and run,” it is just too risky to have much long exposure.

• Strong divergences in RSI and MACD (see Figure 1) - negative.

• Ready to roll over any day now.

• Figure 2 shows DJI Mini Futures Commercial Hedgers Positions.

• Commercial hedgers usually considered “smart money,” are net short DJI mini futures.

• The red line is one standard deviation below the 3-year average.

• It’s not a good time to be long and bet against “smart money.”

• This does not preclude DJI from making another small push higher; it is not a short-term timing signal, but everything points to a top of significance.
